3. Eligibility
You must be aged 18+ to use our platform, either as a buyer/customer or as a seller/service provider.
4. Service Offerings
- Events: Includes gardening-related events.
- Workshops:Includes instructional sessions on gardening topics, both online and in-person. The workshops are in-person, unless otherwise mentioned on the product.
- Gardening Services: Includes in-person and virtual consultations and gardening services at the customer's location or via video call.
5. User Obligations
- Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
- Compliance: You must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms & Conditions.

- Prohibited Activities: Activities like fraud, harassment, spamming are strictly prohibited on the platform.

7. Sellers and Service Providers
- Legality: Ensure all services and products offered comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Insurance: Carry appropriate insurance for in-person services.
8. Payments and Commissions
- Payment Processing: Payments are securely processed via Stripe.
9. Booking and Payment for Services
- Booking: Customers can book services through the platform.
- Payment: Payment must be made at the time of booking.
10. Cancellations and Refunds

For Events and Workshops:
- If the provider cancels the event or workshop, customers can request a refund or reschedule.
- Customers can request a refund or reschedule if they cancel at least 72 hours before the event or workshop. Cancellations within 72 hours are not eligible for refunds, unless agreed between the workshop provider and the customer.

For Gardening Services:
- Service providers can cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled service without penalty. Short-notice cancellations require rescheduling or refunds.
- Customers can cancel services up to 48 hours before the appointment for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a cancellation fee.
11. Returns and Disputes
- Returns: Return requests must be settled directly between the buyer and the seller.
- Disputes: Planteka is not responsible for resolving disputes but may facilitate communication between parties.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
- Data Collection: We collect personal data necessary for providing our services. Refer to our Privacy Policy for details.
- Data Use: By using our services, you consent to the processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Intellectual Property

Planteka is not liable for any damages, losses, or injuries that occur during or as a result of attending workshops. Customers attend workshops at their own risk.
- Service Quality: We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services and products offered by users.

- User Accounts: We may terminate or suspend your account for violating these Terms & Conditions or engaging in fraudulent activity.
- Service Discontinuation: Planteka reserves the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time.

Planteka respects your Intellectual Property and if you believe that your work has been copied and used on our website by users on the Planteka platform, please report to us immediately with our contact form. We will inform the responsible entity immediately. If you are not an intellectual property rights owner or their agent, Planteka will not be able to process complaints submitted through this form . Please report your concerns to Planteka through the appropriate venue: Sellers may use the form to report inappropriate listings, other sellers, policy violations, etc. Our responsibility will solely be in informing the related parties.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Seller Policies
Welcome to Planteka, a marketplace for gardening services provided both via video and in-person, and events and workshops. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our platform and services. By using our platform, you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility and Seller Requirements
- Sellers must provide accurate and up-to-date business details, including valid contact information and certifications (if applicable).
- Sellers must have experience or qualifications relevant to the gardening or plant care industry.
- All sellers must adhere to local, state, and national laws regarding the services they provide.
2. Service Listings
- Accuracy: Descriptions of workshops and services must be detailed, truthful, and updated regularly. Include pricing, duration, materials provided, and participant requirements.
- Photos & Media: Listings must include clear, high-quality images and/or videos showcasing the workshop setup or services.
- Service Standards: Clearly state what participants or clients can expect from the experience (e.g., hands-on learning, takeaway materials, or plants).
3. Pricing & Payments
- Sellers set their own prices, including optional add-ons. However, prices must remain competitive and reflect the market standards.
- Planteka will deduct a service fee of 20% from each booking, for workshops organised by the sellers and 30% for all plant care and plant-sitting services, and workshops organised by Planteka. Sellers will receive payments as per payment policy as set by Stripe, the payment gateway that we use. For any manual payments, when necessary, Planteka is responsible to make the payment within one week of completing the workshop or service or at the end of the calendar month, whichever is later.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
- Sellers can define their own cancellation and refund policies (e.g., full refunds for cancellations made X days before the event). These policies must be clearly outlined in the service listing. However, they can also adhere to the standard cancellation policy as set by Planteka.
- In cases of last-minute cancellations or no-shows by sellers, participants are entitled to a full refund or rescheduling.
- Sellers are responsible for promptly communicating any changes to participants or clients.
5. Customer Interaction
- Sellers must respond to customer inquiries and booking requests within 48 hours.
- Professional and respectful communication with participants and clients is mandatory. Any reports of inappropriate behavior may lead to suspension or removal from the platform.
6. Safety & Compliance

Workshop Safety:
- Workshops must comply with local safety standards, including proper supervision, safe equipment usage, and disclosure of risks involved in activities.
- Sellers must ensure workshops are conducted in safe, hazard-free environments.
- All tools, materials, and equipment must be in good working condition and used responsibly.
- Sellers must disclose any risks involved in workshops (e.g., handling sharp tools, use of chemicals, or allergenic plants) in the service listing and during the event.
- If minors are allowed to participate, sellers must implement proper supervision and follow local safety regulations.

Sellers providing plant care services must adhere to the following safety guidelines:
- Use only safe, eco-friendly, and approved products for pest control or plant treatments.
- Disclose any potential allergens or risks associated with products used to clients beforehand.
- Ensure proper handling of tools or equipment on-site to avoid any property damage or harm.
- Obtain client approval before making any major adjustments (e.g., repotting, pruning, or fertilizing).

Video Consultations
Sellers offering video consultations must ensure the following safety and privacy guidelines:
- Use secure and reputable video conferencing platforms to protect client data.
- Maintain a professional background and setting free of distractions or inappropriate visuals.
- Record consultations only with explicit client consent for documentation or follow-up purposes.
- Clearly communicate care instructions during the call, and provide written summaries upon request to avoid misunderstandings.

Plant-Sitting Safety:
- Sellers providing plant-sitting services at clients' homes must ensure the safety and security of the client’s property and plants.
- Sellers must follow all care instructions provided by the client and communicate immediately if an issue arises (e.g., pests or unexpected plant health changes).
- Sellers must maintain professional conduct and respect client privacy while at their property.
7. GDPR Compliance
- Sellers must comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and any applicable local data protection laws when handling customer data.
- Sellers are prohibited from using customer data for purposes other than fulfilling the agreed-upon services.
- Sellers must ensure that any data shared with them is stored securely and not shared with third parties without explicit consent.
8. Media Usage by Planteka
- By using the platform, sellers grant Planteka the right to use images, videos, and media from their service listings for promotional purposes.
- This includes, but is not limited to, marketing materials, social media posts, pitch decks, website content, and other promotional activities.
- Planteka agrees to credit the seller where possible and will not use media in a way that misrepresents the seller’s services.
9. Service Quality & Feedback
- Sellers are encouraged to maintain high service quality to receive positive reviews. Consistently low ratings or complaints may result in suspension.
- Sellers should actively address feedback and strive to improve their services.
10. Marketplace Code of Conduct
- Sellers are expected to act in good faith and contribute positively to the marketplace community.
- Fraudulent activity, including false listings, misrepresentation, or unethical behavior, will not be tolerated.
11. Dispute Resolution
- In case of disputes with customers, sellers must first attempt to resolve the issue amicably.
- If unresolved, Planteka will mediate the dispute based on documented communication and platform policies.
12. Tax & Legal Compliance
- Sellers are responsible for reporting their income and paying applicable taxes.
- It is the seller’s responsibility to ensure their services comply with local laws and regulations.
13. Termination of Seller Account
- Sellers may terminate their account at any time by notifying Planteka.
- The marketplace reserves the right to suspend or terminate seller accounts for violations of these policies.

Planteka may update these policies periodically. Sellers will be notified of changes and are required to review and accept the updated policies to continue using the platform.
